Vienna, Vienna, only you alone…”
“…shall always be the city of my dreams!” – With these words, the Viennese song composer and librettist Rudolf Sieczyński expressed his love for Vienna. This love is shared not only by visitors from all over the world, but also by short breaks and tourists from the Austrian provinces. A harmonious “Viennese melange” of coziness, Viennese charm, green spaces, multiculturalism, sophisticated style in the city center, historic buildings, coolness in the outer districts, coffee house tradition, sausage stands, music, festivals and varied history make up the charm of this city. GEO magazine even describes Vienna as the city with the best quality of life. So there are many reasons not only to visit Vienna, but also to live and work here or even to plan a company outing – true to the motto: “Vienna is different….”
Geocaching in Vienna’s city center
The perfect idea for your company outing! Geocaching is a movement-oriented activity in which teams use GPS devices to follow coordinates and search for well-camouflaged containers (caches). These caches, about the size of a film canister, are perfectly integrated into their surroundings and contain tricky tasks for the team. The puzzles require creativity, logic and teamwork. At Teaminprogress, we are convinced that people enjoy searching and finding things. It is fulfilling to find your bearings in an unfamiliar environment and to track down something that gradually comes together to form a whole. Vienna offers numerous attractions and attractive hiding places for geocaches, which is why it is not easy to find the perfect start and end point for a geocaching tour.
The Ringstrasse
The Ringstrasse has a fascinating history and is surprisingly not that old. In the 1860s, Emperor Franz Joseph I decided to demolish the fortifications around the city center and incorporate the suburbs. A major project for which architects and urban planners from all over Europe applied. In collaboration with artists, sculptors and architects from Germany and abroad, a complete work of art was created – the Ringstrasse. Divided into nine sections, it encircles the city center over a length of around 4 kilometers. The Ringstrasse is a representative example of the historicist architectural style throughout Europe, combining elements of antiquity, romanticism, gothic, renaissance and baroque.
